CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS FOR OPEN ISSUE Vol. 34 (2023)

  • Serbian Studies is inviting scholarly contributions on any topic relevant to Serbian culture in the disciplines of literature, music, art, architecture, politics, sociology and history.

  • Papers should be a minimum of 5,000 and a maximum of 15,000 words, in English.

  • All contributions are subject to a process of double-blind review. The decision of the editors is final.
    Submissions should contain an abstract and at least 6 keywords, the name and affiliation of the contributor and the title of the contributor’s essays, sent as a word document to the editor-in-chef, Millicent.vladivglover@monash.edu

    SPECIAL SECTION OF TRIBUTES AND REMINISCENCES BY CONTEMPORARIES
    Charles Simic (1938-2023)
    Pulitzer-Winning Serbian-American Poet, US Poet Laureate (2007-2008)

The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board of Serbian Studies would like to commemorate the life and work of the Serbian-American poet Charles Simic with a special section of the current issue of the journal, dedicated to tributes and reminiscences by contemporaries.

The contributions will take the form of reminiscences about personal encounters with the poet or with his work, in which the contributing writer will recount episodes from the poet’s life, citing the poet’s words of advice or friendship. The contributions do not constitute a research paper and will not be subject to external peer review. However, the Editorial Team reserves the right to comment and to ask contributors to modify statements in line with copyright laws about private conversations specified in the Serbian Studies Editorial Policies on the NASSS website.

Deadline for submissions of contributions: March 31, 2023.
Length of contributions: Maximum 2,000 words, in English or Serbian.
